Water Fielding: Do you know how hard it is to find a really good carpenter? Besides, I think he's got a brother who's a plumber!
Anna Crowley: Really? A brother who's a plumber?
Water Fielding: I think so.
Anna Crowley: Do you think I should sleep with him?
Water Fielding: Maybe just this once.
So, you can call me Anna, as in Anna Crowley (Fielding) from the Money Pit....1986 movie, Tom Hanks, Shelley Long, buy beautiful house, which of course needs about a million dollars worth of work done, contractors say it will take two weeks.....that is my life in a nut shell.....two days, two weeks, two months, two years.....nothing ever takes how long they say it will....they being the expert, the instructions or the bloody damn dvd it came with.... seriously!
Let me introduce myself....I am a blogger....I wrote a blog for several years during the time my husband was deployed....and well, we all, we bloggers, sort of know when a blog has run it's course, and with his return and our being moved to a more stable environment, I sort of had nothing really left to say on the topic....thus I stopped writing.....
But do you stop writing? I don't think so....I found myself mind blogging about everyday things that would never fit into my "old" blog....and so here I am again.....blogging about my life.....which at this moment seems to be completely and 100% wrapped around, you guessed it....my house.
I should say our house, except every home my husband and I have owned he signed on the dotted line for and handed me the "responsibility" of handling any and all projects stemming from "why the water smelled" to the very favorite "why do we have excessive mold in our shower?"
So I shall be writing of past experiences of home ownership since the purchase of our first home in 1994, since arriving in our new abode almost 2 years ago to the current ones we are undertaking at this time....if you get lost, ask, I shall try to draw you a road map....but then again.....I get lost pretty easily without GPS, so we may end up lost together!!!!
Enjoy....I welcome comments, your own stories of mishaps, but I do not welcome nastiness or mean things being said, save that for people who know you....
Welcome to my blog!

ReplyDeleteAnd we were wondering!! But we kinda-sorta figgered it out.
Thanks for the invite, "Anna!" We shall be reading and mayhap even contributing a couple o' stories. I owned a house built in 1927 for ten years back in the mid-'80s through the mid-'90s. I have a few. ;-)
